Liverpool vs Man City Betting Preview
Liverpool's title defence suffered a nasty blow on Wednesday night as they lost 1-0 to Brighton. As a result, the Merseysiders have lost their last two home games after going almost four years without an league defeat at home prior to that. In between those Anfield defeats, Liverpool took maximum points from their fixtures at Tottenham and West Ham, winning both fixtures 3-1. A run of just two wins in their last eight Premier League outings has left the Reds currently fourth in the Premier League, seven points behind pace setters Manchester City having played a game more.
Manchester City are on a 13-game winning streak in all competitions. A midweek 2-0 win over Burnley ensured Pep Guardiola’s side moved three points clear at the top of the table (with one game in hand), and 7 points over Liverpool. The Citizens have kept clean sheets in their last six Premier League outings and only conceded four goals in their last 20 matches in all competitions. Anfield remains a bogey ground for Man City, who have come away from the red half of Merseyside with victory just once in their last 29 league visits. The reverse fixture in November proved a cagey encounter at the Etihad, ending in a hard-fought 1-1 draw.
Liverpool are underdogs here, despite playing at home, with Boylesports pricing them at 5/2 for the victory.
The draw can be backed at 11/4 with Betfred while the 'Man City to win' outcome is available at 49/20 with Unibet.

Probable Line-Ups
Liverpool (4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Kabak, Fabinho, Robertson; Thiago, Henderson, Wijnaldum; Salah, Firmino, Mane
Jurgen Klopp is mired in an injury crisis with Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Joel Matip, Naby Keita and Diogo Jota all sidelined. Alisson, Sadio Mane and Fabinho will be assessed ahead of the kick off on of the two new signings - Ben Davies and Ozan Kabak - should start as centre back. The likes of James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Curtis Jones are all options in the middle of the park but a midfield trio of Thiago, Henderson and Georginio Wijnaldum looks to be Klopp's preference.
Manchester City (3-4-3): Ederson; Laporte, Stones, Dias; Walker, Cancelo, Rodri, Gundogan; Foden, Bernardo, Sterling
Kevin De Bruyne and Nathan Ake remain sidelined, while Pep Guardiola has ruled out any chance of Sergio Aguero returning for this match, as he continues to recover from COVID-19. The Spanish manager experimented with a back three in recent weeks to get both Aymeric Laporte and John Stones in the side with Ruben Dias. Rodri and Ilkay Gundogan will anchor the midfield while Joao Cancelo and Kyle Walker should start as wing backs. Up front, Raheem Sterling should play as centre forward, flanked by Bernardo Silva and Phil Foden.
